The Challenge / Brief

When luxury soft furnishings retailer, Loom & Last, required production support to help realise their re-brand, they asked Fable Studios to collaborate on producing content for delivery across a range of platforms.

The primary output needed to be a polished brand film, complete with new branding graphics, clearly demonstrating the quality materials and craftsmanship that exemplify their products. This would be filmed at their factory in the textile region of Portugal.

From this material, the brief dictated production of a series of shorter films, each optimised for their specific platforms, as well as a suite of ‘motion stills’ – a technique where the layers of a still image are separated and moved independently to suggest parallax movement.

Quality, comfort, luxury and a legacy of craftsmanship were stipulated to always be at the forefront of any creative approach.

The Execution

Liaising closely with both Loom & Last and their Portugese facility, our team carefully planned both the creative and logistical approach to filming the production process.

This meticulous planning as well as utilizing our highly experienced film crew allowed us to shoot all material at a level matching or exceeding our client’s expectations whilst managing stringent health and safety requirements and adapting to schedule changes – vital when dealing with operating factories.

Once back in the studio, our editors first crafted the brand film, bringing a sense of scale, experience and playfulness to the film through the edit and music choices.

The next stage was to re-version the brand film for maximum impact as social media content. Each output was individually realised using bespoke durations, dimensions and creative proven to be optimal for their destination platforms.

The Result

This project was an exemplary case of clear creative direction from the start allowing quality and continuity of style to be carried across the multiple outputs, all derived from the same footage gathered on the shooting days.

The polished brand film acts as prime positioning content whilst the social media films entice those new to Loom & Last.
